Plein Air Days
Our much anticipated Summer Painting Days are back. It's great to get outside, be spontaneous and enjoy the company of others. This summer we have three days planned. If you'd like to experience the art club these are the perfect days to come along with your paints, meet other artists and dip your toe into the world of Plein Air and Carrickfergus Art Club. If you're uncertain where the venues are we will be meeting at Carrickfergus Harbour (by the toilets) at 10am for arrival at the venue by 10.30am.
Skeagh Cottage
Saturday 3rd August 10.30 am Meeting at Carrickfergus Harbour (by the toilets) at 10am if you wish to car share to the venue. Skeagh should provide opportunities to paint flowers, trees, birds and of course the lovely cottage. We're delighted to be able to paint at this new venue, special thanks to the owners. |
Hazelbank Park
Saturday 7th September 10.30 am Meeting at Carrickfergus Harbour (by the toilets) at 10am if you wish to car share to the venue. Hazelbank offers the perfect opportunity to paint in so many areas, on the beach, in the forest, at the bowling green and the park. There should be boats, water, sea birds, dogs, people, bikes, seaweed, trees and flowers. |
You will need to bring a few things with you, your paints, a chair, a packed lunch and hopefully a sun hat! We don't like to be too pessimistic but it's probably best to bring an umbrella and a warm drink, working on the basis if you have them with you then you won't need them. Painting outdoors is as much about the social aspect as the art and we've always had great fun outdoors, it's a long winter!
